I went to visit the Canadians at their beautiful lake. It brought back a lot of memories of when I was a child in Minnesota. In the summers we would always go to the lake. The water was cold and crisp and smelled like lake. I was always afraid of disappearing into a sudden drop-off, but I never did. While I was at the lake in Canada I began painting water in a series entitled at the lake. The series consisted of sixteen 4x6 inch ink and mixed media works on handmade Indian Village paper. The series was completed some years later in the stillness of my studio.
